I hate to say it, but im loving the bmw, think for the first time in 4years im going off the Supra!! The bmw is just so nice to be in! No rattles, no hard rides, all the fancy electronics ect... Not actually caring about my supra at the moment while its on the drive all proped up by an axel stand, not even going to chase it as I have this car until I either get it repaired or a settlement cheque, not been contacted yet by them for an engineer to come out to inspect!.

Received my replacement car this morning, not bad at all! They can take their time if they like! Nice interior, petrol 6 speed box, pretty quick also, could certainly get to like this car! I will kick up a fuss about the repairs if they want to write it off, see how that goes, waiting on hearing from them now to send an engineer out.

that is exactly how i see it, which is why i know they will write it off. Im not worried about about it being know as written off as i cant see me needing to sell this for a long time, So as long as i can buy it back, it should be ok.

no, theres no damage to the chassis, just bent the arms, had a good look there, so it is repairable! well will first see what they say when come to inspect to tell me whether it is or is not, as long as i can buy it back im not too worried what i get for it as long as it covers all the new bits, for the record, how much do you think a 97 facelift na would be worth to hold out for?

strange that, as thats not what my insurance company said to me, they said that the other company can write it off? Anyone confirm this?

Well just an update, decide to go through a 3rd party management company, they have sorted all the details and confirmed the bloke is insured ect. So i will be getting a bmw 3 series coupe 2.5i petrol manual as a courtesy car (which i thought is a result), and now have to wait for his insurance company to send an engineer out to inspect damage, if they write it off, then i am going to buy it back and fix it up as have already sourced all the replacement parts, I take it you can always buy a car back if its a write off because it will cost too much to repair?

So whats the point of them writing the car off if you can claim anyway?

Yeah its the one i bought off you, had it done and fitted in about 2weeks! Def let you know about the wheels mate! cheers Think i am going to go down the managment company route, prob easiest way. How do they get a car with 3 wheels on a truck anyway??

if you go to one of those companies pig just said, do you still tell your insurance company and say to them they will sort it? are they alright with that?

will speak to insurance and discuss options, as the alloys is knackerd, do they say to you get a new set or, do they replace that wheel, what happens if you can get that wheel anymore?

ok, think i will go the insurance route, who would you use as a accident management company? help hire a company? the police checked and the guy does have third party fire and theft on that car, so thats good news can a other party insurance company write off your car?

yeah have the policemans name and number, so do i contact his insurance, or just phone mine and they speak to them?

nah nor can i, but hope i guess, apparently he crashed 2 weeks ago and just bought this one!! So his insurance is going to be non existant after this one i rekon so may swing it.

what sort of price you think i should ask him if i decide to avoid the insurance route as think that will be just hassel and long winded.

the policeman said that if there was any probs that the insurance wont payout then he will give a statement, its pretty rock solid to be honest, the guy was trying to say that my wheel was turn out, but look how close i am to the pavement, also the policeman said it doesnt matter even it was!

I know it can be fixed and i can do that myself, just you know if you go through insurance they buy everything new, so steering rack alone is stupid money isnt it?

no, mine was never recorded as a cat D, so shouldnt have problems there, if i claim and they write it off, what sort of figure you think they will offer? also around how much to buy it back?
