  4. Nothing wrong with the Greddy - no need to replace unless it is faulty. CAL switches on a Syvecs only need to be 2 wire, unless they "have" to be fitted to an input that doesn't have the integral pull up (applies to 4 of the 16 inputs; the "AV" type). A 3 wire type can still be supplied. TC is usually an 8 way in my experience, or can be controlled via Toucan if you have one
  5. Also MoTeC, AlcaTek, MBE, Link and Vi-PEC; and, soon, Megasquirt, some GEMS-based ECUs and - hopefully - HKS F-CONN
  6. Hi! That's a loom adapter made by yours truly It has a socket - looks like an Ethernet socket, in your first picture - that you can plug the Toucan cable directly in to. Toucan may have a "modem" type connector, but it fits that Ethernet-like socket just perfectly. The other two connectors are for a wideband (6 pin connector, ready to take a "PnP" lambda cable from our goodselves) and an AUX connector with all the spare I/O on it. You should have been supplied with a small piece of paper with this information on it? If not, PM me and I'll fire over the info to you.

  8. Best is to grab the proper logs and see if there are any clues there.
  9. It can often be nothing more than the plugs were disconnected for a short while while the ECU was powered, or it might be dirty/intermittent connectors. I don't think they are current faults (they show as yellow rather than red).
  10. That first screen shot is showing (historic) sensor failures - your air charge temp sensor was not behaving as expected at some time, likewise the throttle position sensor. To see if you had oil pressure trip you need to grab the logs using SData, then view them using SView.
  11. Sorry for asking what's probably a dumb question, but what temperature are you trying to measure? At present, Toucan has temperature gauges that are *labelled* for air temp, oil temp, fuel temp and coolant temp. But what they display is purely determined by what comes up the CAN datastream in the designated slot. So if you want to use the fuel temp display (for example) for something else then all you need to do is change the CAN definitions in SCal (which I can easily help you with). Drop me a PM or email if preferred and we can discuss further.
  12. Firstly, I'm not officially connected with Syvecs, although obviously I work closely with them. I have known Charlie for many years, mostly as a customer of Surrey Rolling Road, and met Ryan and Pat only fairly recently. Ryan, as a director of Syvecs, is perhaps best placed to answer your questions, but I do know Solaris became Syvecs a few years ago as they were told they couldn't use the Solaris name any more due to a well known operating system of that name. As far as I know, the ecu's themselves have not changed significantly in that time - and I certainly know that the latest Syvecs firmware an be applied to ecu's regardless of age - I don't think there are any "gotcha's". I should also add that I don't really know much about Supras - I came on here at Ryan's request to answer questions about Toucan first hand. My main experience is with Impreza's, but obviously my customers fit units to all sorts of vehicles
  13. Updates are made available on a reasonably regular basis. There was one in January to fix a bug with the launch control indicator, and I am just testing a new release that adds some new functionality: sensor failure alarms; injector duty cycle alarm; support for the new Syvecs custom serial data stream; PIN protection enhancement. In the future we have plans for user-configurable gauge pages and maybe more flexibility with the choice of pointer and gauge colour schemes. Also, support for other ecus is likely. Updates are applied using a simple application you can download. It runs on a PC and connects to Toucan via USB. If you register the product we'll even let you know when updates are available. I don't believe in only being able to apply updates for a limited period - basically, as long as we're developing the product, you will always be eligible for updates

Hi Guys, VERY sorry not to have replied - despite checking all the settings I have not been getting notifications of people posting on this thread I like to reply promptly to any query, so I'm very embarrassed not to have checked back here more often Anyway, I can confirm that this unit is in full production and has been shipping since December last year. I do believe there are some examples fitted to Supras, but I don't know who they may be: I know of Toucan's fitted to Impreza and Skylines, and of two fitted to Lotus', plus one in Ryan's GT-R as has been said. Having checked settings AGAIN, I hope that I will see any replies to this, but I will check back in again soon in case I still don't get email notification.

  18. If anyone's interested, I just added a downloads page to the website (http://www.jti.uk.com) with a draft installation/user guide, a datasheet/brochure and a Calibration file for the CAN bus setup
  19. Don't know why I didn't get a notification of your post Chris (must check spam) but, as you obviously know, we have discussed this now. I now have information from MoTec and am quite confident that it can be made to work with no problem, but please bear with me as I can't get on to it straight away. FYI the production unit is "dual standard" operating using either RS232 or CAN bus - CAN provides more functionality but does require changes to the Syvecs calibration to make it all work, whereas RS232 works out of the box.   22. The display unit connects to the same pin/wire as the usual CAL switch and replaces it. The unit then emulates the functionality of the original switch. Out of interest, where does the CAL switch usually wire in on a Supra? On an Impreza, it's wired to a pair of "test" connectors under the dash near the ODBII port by the drivers knees, and I provide connectors directly for those. I can do the same for Supra's but need to find out what connectors are used
