  1. As far as I know? I bought the car from a member on here last year and he told me they were HKS?
  2. Just had the geo setup done by Kenny Brown in hillington which was well worth it!! The car drives better but on picking it up he told me the car is sitting way too high at the rear and low at the front. Had a feeling it was way too low in the front due to the clearance (or lack of) with only 18"x8 wheels with 235 tyres. I really like the bilstein shocks and don't want to go for a new suspension setup if I can get away with just new springs? The car has Chris Wilson bilstein's with HKS springs at the moment. My question is, if I can put any springs onto the CW bilstein's to try and correct the problem? It may sound like a daft question but to be honest I'm not entirely sure what the difference is between the re-worked shocks and the stock setup? Any help would be great as I have no clue what type/ size springs to order??!!

    Dial fitting

Tried the pre-ignition and was still miles out. The drive and place was the last option.

    Dial fitting

I fitted the same dials a while back, had to remove the needles, when I put the speedo needle back on it was 10mph out. Think it must be spring loaded. Ended up having to drive past a speed sign down the street and place it on whilst on the move.
  5. Use mine daily for a 50 mile round trip, even through the snow. No complaints other than the fuel bill!!
  6. It would be me if it was half 7. Im up past there on my way to work.
  7. Thanks Chris. I've had a look through a few sites about the oil and seems to be the right stuff (I hope!). You wouldn't happen to know if it's the same timing belt would you? Can't seem to find an answer anywhere? I'm thinking their the same as I have only seen the same type when I've been looking.
  8. Service time has come around and Ive decided to buy all the parts myself. Ive ordered up the oils (Silkolene Pro S 5W40, and Royal Purple Gear Max for the TRD Diff) however I wasn't sure if the oil filter and air filter for the VVTI model is the same as the J Spec or UK Spec? Im also thinking about doing the timing belt while Im at it, are they the same for all TT models? I know the VVTI has a fair bit of difference but wasn't sure if these parts fall into that list? Any advice would be great.
  9. Might be worth a look. Took a fair bit of effort just to get them semi presentable!
  10. That would definitely make a difference! Think I'll be relying on Autosol and a fair bit of elbow grease!
  11. They look superb. How did u get them polished up so well?
  12. As little as 20 ft lbs? I'd of thought they would be tighter? I have also been reading that if the wheels are 3 piece its a nightmare to refurb them due to a silicon seal?
  13. They are bolted at the rears however the bolts look to have been either welded or soldered to the rim. Im hoping not welded as that is'nt going to make it any easier to remove them.
  14. They are 18" Rays Victrix, took me a while to track them down on the net to make sure they were Rays. Nice alloys, and I prefer them to the new ones I bought to be honest. Im really paranoid about snapping any of the allen bolts as Im pretty sure they wont be easy to come by to replace them. They have the same 6mm bolts around the rim, I gave them a try yesterday without soaking them and they seem to be solid. I think a good soak is in order! What kind of paint stripper are you looking to use, Nitro-mors?
  15. I have just bought a new set of alloys and was thinking about refurbing my old ones myself. They are a set of Rays split rims but Im a bit wary of taking them apart to repaint the centre pieces. I know they simply unbolt from the rims however Im not sure if they require proper allignment when bolting them back together? With something as important as wheels Im not sure if I should leave it to someone who knows what their doing. Bit of a waste to mess them up.
  16. I know what your saying but the vent shape looks really different from my Bomex. Maybe a TRD replica?
  17. Not sure their bomex? I have bomex sideskirts, mine have a curve at the front and a more rounded vent area.
  18. Good point. Think I'd better check it out before I buy. Don't fancy some costly repairs!!
  19. Oh right. Would the lower offset be a huge problem?
  20. Ive had a look at your spare set in the parts for sale section, their nice wheels just a bit too similar to my current ones unfortunetly.
  21. Ive been looking for a new set of alloys for my 98 VVTI TT for a while now as the Rays split rims I got with the car are requiring a refurb and Im not really a big fan of the style of them. Ive came across a set I quite fancy although Im not to sure if the widths will be too narrow? The wheels are: 18" 5X114 WITH A 8" ET30 FRONT AND 9" ET35 REAR. Im not to sure if I should be running with an 8.5" front and 9.5" rear? Anyone have any idea's?
  22. Cheers. I've only just started getting to grips when it comes to offsets. I've been trying to buy a set of wheels to fit the UK spec brakes. Finally gave up due to budget and am just going to refurb the Ray's that I bought the car with so ill need to make them work. I take it when you say take the offset into account is not to take it too high when adding the spacers?
  23. Hi, Just had a set of Bomex sideskirts fitted today with rear spats done also. Only problem is the skirts come out from the body a fair bit more than the standard rear section, and it looks terrible. I already have 3mm spacers on the front due to the UK brake set up with nothing at the back. I was wondering if anyone knew if it would be ok to stick 20mm spacers on the rear to take up the space at the front of the rear arch and leave the front as is? The reason I cant do both as I have pretty much no arch clearence due to the Chris Wilson bilsteins with HKS springs. Would this cause handling issues? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers.
  24. Thanks mate that would be superb. It would be good to see the 18" on a car. All the pictures I can dig up seem to be of 19's.
  25. I was looking on "Wheelbase alloys" website. I dont have any clue when it comes to wheel sizes? They say they can do staggered widths? With offsets 35 to 45?
