did you check the plug leads, cap etc ?

i took my car in to get the geometry done on saturday and after them trying for a good few hours they decided to give up as the rear bolts were seized but after talking to them they said they'd cover the bolts in wd40 and leave it over the weekend.
they tried again today and still no joy and they are now saying that the only way to do it is to cut the arms off and replace them with new ones.
anyone else had this ?

Play COD4 and World at War (mainly Zombies!!), Bad Company, Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 and Hawx.
Add me, especially if you enjoy Zombies - difficult to find some non-knob jockeys these days.
i pretty much play them all too and am on most nights

im very interested in this swap too many down to price in that for the price of a 2jz you can get a 1jz+gearbox and still have a good few hundred left.
from what ive heard the wiring is a pain though
-
bump, anyone know ??
-
yeah looks a really nice example, hope you enjoy your stay

well to be honest while i was working at honda the integra had very few problems but the only 2 things that did go on them was the internal coil pack and the alternator bearing.
i can pretty much say it will be the bearing for sure
oh and if your car every dies usually after a bit of high rev driving and then will turn over but wont start that will be the coil pack/ignitor
like i said though they are really the only two faults

hey im from peterborough too and also have an NA, there seems to be a few supras around here recently and as my car wont be on the road by the 10th of may maybe we could set up another local meet in the not too distant furture
-
That looks abou 3 degrees neagtive on the rear and about 2 degrees on the front, far too much.
i know your the man to ask
is there enough adjustment in the geometry to take that out ?
-
heres some pics

i put the coilovers on but apart from that nothing else has been done to the running gear at all
-
the wheels are a 40 offset all round although it has tein coilovers they are set too the standard ride hight.
im starting to get worried because i did all the big no no's when i bought the car:rolleyes:. when i bought it it had light front end damage and i bought it in the dark and in the rain without driving it. it was then trailered to my house so in short ive owned to car 5 months and have spent over 5k fixing it up and ive still never driven it
wheels are 8" at the front with 225's and 9" at the rear with 265's
-
how much adjustment is there in the geometry ?
the reason i ask is that ive just finished restoring my supra and have now put new wheels on (18's) and my rear wheels seem to have a lot of camber on them. i got a long spirit level and rested on the top off the wheel arch and the bottom of the wheel and at the top off the wheel there is a 24mm gap between the level and the rim which seems a lot too me
will an alignment take this out or does this point to something else ?
-
omg i had to hold back the chunks

cheers all,
1, yes im fitting a thicker head gasket
2, im gonna charge cool it, always better for cars. so thats a intercooler aswell with poss coolant add ons.
3, its probably gonna go where the air con pump is as i never really use air con so no need to move the dizzy. jusy uprate the leads, and plugs, maybe a stronger rotor arm.
just the oqruard bit is getting the piggyback, as i say i usualy do v8;s but if this goes well i think that may be my next custom
im also interested in this, i know there was someone in the states that fitted a supercharger for a clk to their supra and looking at pics of it the supercharger itself looks very similar to our air con pumps
-
is this a single or twin box system ?
-
i wish the price would go up
i bought my supra as a bit of a restoration project and i plan to keep it well in to being a classic.
my other complaint is that im not old (35) and when i bought my supra there was only one other in my area that i knew of but now that are about 5-6 new ones just appeared all driven by people that are that young they could be my kids

are we all devaluing the supra ?
over the last few weeks ive seen low mileage NA supra go for as little as £1200 which i think is ridiculous as the car can be broken for more than that and too me is worth much more.
is it all down to us though ? i'd say with the amount of members on here the members car must account for a large percentage of supras in the country but i constantly see threads saying oh thats too expensive or you wont get that for it also seeming to over exaggerate the whole credit crunch thing.
from looking around the price of service parts haven't gone down nor have repair panels and ive even noticed the price of aftermarket parts go up (probably due to the value of the pound being so low) so how can a complete car be worth less ?
ive always thought of the supra as being a bit of a legend and surely people should have to pay for the privilege.

you seem to be being really vague when it comes to tuning, what was it being tuned with on your car ?
-
well ive now got the engine all cleaned up, back in and running

homebase used to sell a socket called a gatorgrip which is like a socket with loads of pins in it and is supposed to fit all nut sizes but it turned out the were really good for getting locking wheel nuts off
maybe worth a try
looks like this:
