  1. Might be a silly question but if you were to take out just one of the cats and put a cat-back exhaust on a J-spec TT, would you gain any extra horses? Cheers ...
  2. Cheers Jamesy, lookin forward to hearing from you
  3. Thanks for all the comments .. however, if th edifference in 0-60 is not really noticeable, the question begs if its really worth the extra 1K plus and the extra strains on the engine that come with it?
  4. Is there a real noticeable difference between running a TT with BPU (boosting at 1.2 bar max) and standard (up to 0.9 bar max)? Is it the 0-60 times in acceleration thats quicker, top end or what? What is the main differences in performance? Just wondered ...
  5. What about just getting it "treated" for now? Surely much cheaper and easier?
  6. Many thanks ... But wouldnt a respray just fix the bonnet? WHat about the bubbles of rust and the cracked side skirt. Would it be easy to just rub it down and fill in the bubbles and with the cracked side skirt is there a special kind of compound or glue to fix this?
  7. Any suggestions/advice on how to treat these slight abnormalities on the paintwork? Pic 1) Bubbling underneath Pic 2) Laquer peeling off Pic 3) Cracked oem sideskirt WHats the easiest and cheapest way to get these little niggles sorted please?
  8. Yes, youre right. Gonna get some Plast x or whatever from Halfrauds. Hopefully that will take most the yellow off ...
  9. Its been in the country for 2 years and been serviced every 6 months. Its weird because another pic of the same engine bay shows no signs of rust (could it be the flash ?!) The owner said that there is a little bubble appearing on the bottom part under the rear window where the water collects but nothing else. Look at this pic of the same engine bay:
  10. Cheers bud, may go and have a "butchers". Is it true that TT aerotops are slightly slower than TT non-aerotops due to the increase in weight?
  11. Im from Southampton mate, where abouts are you from?
  12. He he .. youre right Maz, I am a bit of a worrier, had 3 years of trouble-free motoring with the FTO and have read quite a few scarey stories on here. They are supercars and need to be treated with respect and your wallet of course :-)
  13. How much are we talking about approx?
  14. Jake, would you suggest holding out for the 6ok mark before changing it if cash is a bit tight?
  15. I read somewhere on here that Supras are non interference engines and therefore the cambelt woudlnt do that sort of damage?! Anyone else know if thats true?
  16. Thank you. Has anybody on here had a failed cambelt before 60k miles?
  17. Apart from the tubbies failing, what are the most expensive and common problems that Supras endure and roughly how much is it to fix them. Just curious ...
  18. I have read all the posts about cambelts and have found out that they should be changed at 60k miles (or 5 years) but a import trader somewhere up North told me that he had never heard of a cambelt failure before 60k miles. Surely, this defies the "5 years" rule of thumb if we are talking about a car which is 13/14 years old. Would you wait or pay out and get it changed as a matter of course on a Supra with 45k miles that had never had a cambelt change? Any advice would be great!
  19. Can you tell me whether this engine bay for a 50K mile engine looks "about right" please ... Its a J-spec TT auto ... Many thanks :-) Mark
  20. Im based in Fareham. Are you close to me? WHat do you think of the one above in Pistonheads?
  21. Cheers everyone for the advice! I think i will leave that one. WHat do you think of this one though? http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/238204.htm Your thoughts much appreciated as usual :-)
