  1. Some pics to help understand how the SSQV should be installed! This is exactly how I installed mine, although these pics are taken from mkiv.com.
  2. Although I can't offer any advice to the problem 'Induction', (don't know your name!) I have to say that when I fitted my SSQV myself, it made a remarkable improvement in performance. I think there would be many people to question the fact that the HKS BOV 'isn't up to the job', as this is one of the most popular at the moment! I would only suggest checking that the HKS BOV was fitted 100% correctly with all jubilee clips fully tightened (to prevent any leaking). Was the blanking cap installed along with the new BOV?
  3. Guys, Anyone know who/where I can get help with a problem with my Bel 550. Basically the missus was getting frustrated with alerts round town and pressed a few buttons to shut it up! It seems she has changed the country setting and now it talks to me in German! I have tried changing the language back to english, but the option is no longer present. I have thoroughly read the manual it came with and I can't fix it! A factory reset or something may help, but I can't find anything on the web! any ideas?
  4. Rob I must recommend the HKS Super SQV, its supposed to be the loudest on the market and it sure looks the business. You can even buy different blades for them, which allow you to change the sound it makes. They are easy to fit if you wanted to do it yourself, you can get them from Justin at TorqueIC [email protected]
  5. Guys, Am trying to hardwire my Bel550 into the interior light and I cannot work out which wires I should be attaching the device to! There is a Red, Green and White (with black stripe!) wire, which go into the light itself. and there is a black and black (with white stripe!) wire coming from my detector. How do I go about wiring it up so that it only comes on with the ignition? I know it can be done as Mark A has his like this. Any help would be appreciated.
  6. Are both sets of wheels exactly the same size (i.e. width)? What tyres do you have on each set? These are factors which would affect the handling! Just a thought!
  7. I am inclined to think it is a pad/seating/fitting problem! I have CW pads and fitted them myself, so it could well be, that I have done something wrong! (am not exactly the worlds greatest mechanic!). Will try and sort them before billing but I don't have much time between now and Billing, maybe i'll check them there!
  8. Martin, You may be right, I changed the pads myself about 2 weeks ago. If it is this, what does it mean, other than the noise? Should I remove them and reseat them?
  9. Very certain Doug! but valid comment.
  10. Have checked for that Ian, but to no avail! Thanks though.
  11. Guys, I have noticed over the last couple of days that at very slow speeds I am getting a quiet random ticking type noise from the front drivers side wheel. At first I thought it maybe a stone rattling on the inside of the rim, but it appears not. It doesnt appear to do it from a cold start, and does seem to be more prominent (spelling!?!?!), under braking. Any ideas?
  12. Am pleased you all like the wheels, hopefully I will see most of you at billing, so you can have a good close look! George, The exhaust is an HKS Super Drager, it makes a lovely noise, however cosmetically I would be inclined to suggest the HKS Hyper Muffler, speak to Mark Ayling as he has one of these.
  13. Thanks Mark, They are SSR GPO Decolte Evolutions! They are 18x9.5 (front) and 18x11 (rear).
  14. Nice one! have read all about it now!
  15. LOL! Its the first pic I found with what I wanted to show in! Mine is on the right to, this must be a uk spec car!
  16. Anyone know what this does? (circled in green!!) and why it makes a noise 'occassionally' when the car isn't running?
  17. i'll let you have a closer look at Billing Gav! the pic is mis-leading!
  18. Matt, I have 11's I think!!! My tyres are 285's so that to me would suggest they are 11's! They were on there when I bought the car, but the arches didn't need any modding! They are SSR's They look great IMO.
  19. Nice one guys, will check the manual when I get home and see if I can fix it!
  20. Guys, Have a clifford concept alarm, and it seems to have developed a problem! It is supposed to chirp twice upon locking and once when unlocked, and the indicators flash accordingly. However it started to chirp quietly and now doesn't chirp at all, that is until I have run the car for a bit and it works fine. Automatically I assumed that it may be a problem with the battery being low, however the car starts without any problem, and i would assume starting would require more power than an audible alarm function. Any ideas?
  21. Following on from this, has anyone ever had a HID conversion, if so, what sort of cash would I be looking at, and what kind of improvment? rgds Lee
  22. Terry, this is a reply from Justin F about the bov, may explain the problem you found! ********************************************* Glad you like the dump valve, glad it arrived on time, this is the sort of service you should normally receive from me. The bolt at the back of the SQV is for fine tuning the spring strength. On cars with MAF sensors (like UK supras), it is possible for the car to stall if the spring strength isnt enough (to increase wind the bolt in). loosening the bolt, should increase dump valve volume and response, too lose and you may have stalling problems or (I think) it may leak boost pressure. Try unwinding the bolt a little and see what the results are. *********************************************
  23. Guys, I bought the SSQV from Justin at the weekend, I got round to fitting it yesterday, and it sounds the badgers balls! Anyway, I noticed when taking the car out for a run, (to make sure all was ok!) that it appears to have increased my boost quite considerably! I normally have my boost controller on 50% which runs about 1.0/1.1bar. While I was blasting it down the road, my limiter started beeping. I have this set at 1.3bar! I turned it down to 40% boost and it was peaking at around 1.2bar. I lowered it to 30% and its now reading about 1.0bar. I couldn't believe that this new bov would have made such a difference! What do you guys think? and how can I work out a safe pressure to run my turbos at? cheers
