so whats the bit of plastic on the outside of the headrest, it seems to serve no purpose !

hmm is it me on the side of the headrests there is a peice of platic that sticks out, whats that for ive pulled and pushed and prodded and it dont move, i thought it was maybe the adjuster for the headrests ?!?!?!?! am i going mad ???
