  1. Any one worried about the possible Bird Flu pandemic?

I know of a consultant triage bod in London that is stocking up on all sorts of stuff - water, tinned produce etc.

They say its the same strain that killed 20-40 million back in 1918/19.

    Should we be worried?

Should we be stocking up with stuff?

    What d'ya think guys?:search:

  2. Some schools have stopped sports because of Health and Safety reasons?

Are we heading towards a real Nanny State? - you can do this but not that in-case it hurts you - isn't that my choice?

  3. I believe they will be getting vouchers for cinemas, leisure centres etc to get them off the streets - not for obesity.

It's because of the latest reports about youths on the streets intimidating people and getting pissed late at night.

And they have now where to go - WTF?

It's this bloody government that's created it so difficult for youth centres to stay open, wot with health and safety and all the checks the workers have to go through - now theyre whinging the kids are on the streets!!

  4. BMW M5 or Toyota Supra tt - Toyota all the way for me.

Brother in law and father have had M5's - yep, nice car but parts and servicing are horrific prices.

And next time you take a ride out, look how many 5 series you see compared to Supes.

Supe is a fab everyday car

  5. Marriage guidance or what ever it's called these days - make the effort....

Trust me.... I thought everything was fine and dandy then one day she announced we're not going in the same direction and it's time to split, where the F did that come from because I certainly didnt see it coming?

Needless to say we are now divorced.

No kids though - which helped in my situation - it was all done very quickly and amicably.

Please talk to her and seek professional help - if you want the relationship to work that is.

And, staying for the children isn't very productive if two people have fallen out of love.

  6. The 40mph signs were dotted on alternative sides of the road on their own posts at about 150 to 200 yard intervals, clearly visible and a good reminder to all - I think there are possibly two left and not too visible.

It all seemed to work well, yet why fix it.

A thought has just popped into my head there was a fatal at a junction a year ago last week, where 3 people where killed by a drunk driver.

But surely by taking down the signs ---- Ahhh, now I see the game...the penny has just dropped.... take down the signs allow people to think they are still in a 60 and catch them doing just that in a 40 ...... sneaky bastards.

  7. Is any able to shed a little light on the reasoning behind this action?

In my local area we have / had a speed limit of 40mph through the village - all clearly signed - after coming out of a nat. speed limit (60mph) then after apprx. 2 mile stretch through the village of the said 40mph restriction it goes back into a 60mph.

Now, what the Highways Agency have done recently is put up some speed camera signs AND....... wait for it - taken down the speed limit signs through the village - why, I ask, take down the speed limit signs and replace them with camera signs?? Surely keep the speed limit signs and add camera signs to them??? WTF?

  8. You opened with something like "the politicians haven't created the laws for judges to use"

Think you will find it's the numpty politicians and the do-gooders that have taken the laws away.........

Firm deterrents is what is needed...

Take a life in cold blood - ie murder - expect your life to be taken from you when caught.

Life should mean exactly that LIFE...

Prison should be just that - a cell four walls and bugger all else - don't want to do the time don't commit the crime.

Kill a child through reckless driving, no licence insurance etc, in my mind is murder.

Accepted accidents do happen, but in this case he knew he shouldn't have been behind that wheel.

He may as well have shot the poor child.

What would he have got for that?

Also, I hate to bring this into the equation - but is there a political agenda coming in to play here - in light of recent events with certain ethnic groups, just a thought...

  9. I have some experience with this in the Supe - I like a challenge!!

I have learned, do not let the boost gauge needle move and you'll get excellent MPG - I hear you chuckling.

Here is the other bit - note the way you are driving and pretty soon you will realise you can drive like this in normally aspirated cars and the same style of driving will get good results...

Failing that go on an Advanced Driving Course and learn a whole new way of driving.

  10. I have promised a mate some m/cycle DVDs for a rally she is putting together.

Guess what.... I can't find them - bugger!!

Can any one help? - got any you don't want or can "legitimately" copy for me?

Need freebies if possible - bloody cheeky I know - but, if one doesn't ask..

    [edit] forgot to say please!
