Thanks Gareth, but I am not sure that would be the answer.
The replacement dial sets usually cater for the UK speedo and/or a replacement for an import. It would be unlikely that the scales correspond. For instance, on a UK car 60mph could be at 12 'clock. On an import, 100kph (60mph) may be at 2 o'clock. Add a converter and 60mph (the old kph) would be at 10 o'clock. Neither of the replacement faces would be correct.
Oh, and that's another addition to the SVA - speedo accuracy. They chain the car down to a rolling road and check the accuracy for 30, 40 ,50, 60 & 70!! The speedo must not under-read, but I think can over read by 10% (?)
Would be interested to know what top speed is shown on a UK car.
