Guest Miller95Supra
I know everything there is to this car, as it is 1 of my Top 10 favs. My next hunt is for a 1999 Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R in Bayside Blue that I found in Japan and will buy for cheap (40,000 US) when the money allows me too. But, going a little off topic, I was wondering what these letters mean for the SUPRA. I would greatly appreciate it! It's not like it was EVER a big concern to me, but now I'm kinda curious. RZ RZ-S GS? Anyway, I don't know how many (types) there are and what type of Supra they belong under. AND ALSO. . . 1JZGTE - Non Turbo 2JZGTE - Turbo 2JZGT - Twin Turbo? Use to know, but not so sure of myself. I WOULD APPRECIATE THIS SO MUCH. I though of it earlier today and it is bugging the hell out of me! _____________________________________________ ~ Miller95Supra (St. John's, Newfoundland, CANADA)
Pixelfill
Hi mate, Any particular reason why you chose me in particular to pm this question anyway: GZ, RZ, RZ-S and SZ denote the spec of the Japanese Supras. They are not set in stone, but GZ is the top of the range with full leather interior, cruise control, active spoiler, largr brakes etc. next is RZ which was replaced by RZ-S in later years '96 onwards. These 3 models are all Twin turbo. The SZ is the NA (Naturally Aspirated) model. However it does get slightly more complicated as all the GZ goodies were all available as optional extras on the other models As for the engines. the 1JZ was never available on a MkIV Supra. The 2JZ-GE is the NA and the 2JZ-GTE is the twin-turbo version. There was no 2JZ-GT Hope this helps, there is a more detailed description in the Technical section, guide to the models
Ian W
the mkiv supra only ever came in two flavours engine wise. 2JZ-GTE is the Twin Turbo. 2JZ-GE is the n/a version. as for the models (i.e. SZ, SZ-R, RZ etc), best to check out the info section of the site.....i'm sure there's one somewhere
