I should be getting some new bucket seats this wk end , they are of the fixed type so my rear will be rendered useless , i would like to remove the rear and possibly carry the height of the boot across somehow and drop just behind the fronts , would like it to be all carpeted . Any suggestions on what to use and pics please .

Thanks

Dude I removed my rear seats, belts etc. last winter. Have a look at my garage.

I used the rear boot carpet as my template, if you notice the carpet extends down the back of the rear seats to is a perfect pattern to mark up.

I used thin MDF, chosen for weight, strength, etc. I just got a large piece from B&Q circa. £10 and used a jigsaw to cut it out...

The down panel was a little harder, depending on the job you want, just use a tape measure and measure the width every 5cm down and mark on a piece of paper, draw yourself a rough pattern on some more MDF and cut and trim to fit.

I used some 2mm Aluminium sheet as a hinge (cheap) it wont be seen and to hide the bolts I used a MK2 MR2 panel (the one that fits behind you and between the two seats).

Thats it!
