chris aka fonz
I should be getting some new bucket seats this wk end , they are of the fixed type so my rear will be rendered useless , i would like to remove the rear and possibly carry the height of the boot across somehow and drop just behind the fronts , would like it to be all carpeted . Any suggestions on what to use and pics please . Thanks
grahamc
I have gone a similar route with fixed back seats, and removing the rear seats. I am however putting in a 12" sub and 2 amps... in place of the reaar seat....

grahamc
Have you boarded it accross ? No - going to be open, but all the amps will be covered and will allow for the space to be used. What you planning on ddoing with the space?

I used the rear boot carpet as my template, if you notice the carpet extends down the back of the rear seats to is a perfect pattern to mark up. I used thin MDF, chosen for weight, strength, etc. I just got a large piece from B&Q circa. £10 and used a jigsaw to cut it out... The down panel was a little harder, depending on the job you want, just use a tape measure and measure the width every 5cm down and mark on a piece of paper, draw yourself a rough pattern on some more MDF and cut and trim to fit. I used some 2mm Aluminium sheet as a hinge (cheap) it wont be seen and to hide the bolts I used a MK2 MR2 panel (the one that fits behind you and between the two seats). Thats it! snuffkins
Hi, I was just wondering as i'm planning to remove the rear seats as well. How does it go through the MOT. Or if the seats and seats belts and mounts aren't there does it just pass or does the dvla have to be informed etc? Thanks, Phill
ivan
Why not just drop the back of the rear seat down? Gives you a nice handy storage shelf behind the front seats.
