NA Fuel tank capacity

Right-ho.

I thought it was pretty much gospel that the NA fuel tank was 60 litres rather than the TT's 70 litres. Certainy this has always been my experience. Even when running on fumes I've never managed to squeeze more than 61 litres into it in four years of ownership.

However, tonight I ran the car until the orange light came on and then went and filled up after a couple of miles (not good practise I know). Anyway: The pump marched on past 60 litres and stormed all the way up to 66.08 before clicking off.

I queried whether the pump had been properly zeroed before I started filling and was told that if soemone had put a few litres in before me and then driven ff, the pump wouldbe showing two separate transactions, not a single one for the total. Not being able to prove that my tank cannt hold 66 litres, I paid up and drove off.

So what's the deal? Is it 60 litres or 70 litres for the NA?

Well, that's just bizzarre. I was so sure it was 60 litres for NA and 70 for TT I didn't even think or searching, plus every tankful for the last four years has suggested it was 60 litres, too.

Cheers :)

You would get 60 litres in on average, but if you really run it dry, then absoultely brim it you can get 70 litres in.

I've actually got 71 litres in, at the Total garage in Tadcaster, but I always suspected their pumps were out because no other garage would get me anywhere near that amount.
