Hose Technics Kit

Hi all,

Just about to fit my HT kit.

Just wondering if anyone has done some of these yet and what pipes do you replace?

Also, most of the pipes have the steel clamps on them, do I re-use these, or could I use the colour coded ties that came with the kit?

But do it CAREFULLY! Many of the old hoses will be mishapen and you may be fooled into putting too small a replacement on - check out the old pipe diameter IN THE CENTRE of the old pipe

Then just cut to the correct length and away you go

Use the old clamps where possible

I've also seen pictures of people's engine bays where they've used this kit to change other pipes as well, ones that carry LIQUIDS.

It clearly says on the box not to use the hoses for brake lines etc, because it is not safe.

PaulE, what do you think, is this a dangerous thing to do, or are the H.T. people excessively conservative?

They just dont have the strength to carry anything else

2-3 days ago I remember someone posting a bay pic here (red I think) with all the liquid hoses done as well

I didn't say anything, in a pathetic effort to be 'nice', not a killjoy blah blah...

(ah, who am I kidding, I can't be a go-with-the-flow sheep no matter how hard I try lol...)

Maybe they 'dressed' the liquid hoses rather than replaced them?
