mjansari
Ok, where do I start! I have UK spec supra. I had a squealing noise on very light braking which I suspected was from the front disc as they was scored and needed replacing. However today I had the front pads and disk replaced but upon driving the car the noise is still present. What could be causing the problem. The car is going back to Toyota for a replacement guide pin as the current front pins are bent and rusty, Toyota didn’t have these in stock so Ive got to go back? Could this be causing the problem? I've done a visual check but all seems fine...any ideas? All help would be appreciated especially professional!!! Cheers
Bobbeh
Did you put the anti squeal shims in with the pads?
mjansari
Did you put the anti squeal shims in with the pads? i think they reused the old ones
Bobbeh
Did they clean them up? Put copper grease on them, sometimes people just throw them away because they arnt really needed. Other than that, could be a build up of brake dust? Usually shim related tho. Maybe there's are in the brake lines too? Try pumping the brakes
dude
i think they reused the old ones Bit unusual with genuine new parts , ask Toyota to make suer the shims were put back in , at the end of the day this to Toyota is an old car and as such sometimes the juniors/apprentices get to do the jobs on em , to you its your P&J to them its a 11/12 year old car !!!!! Markie
I have UK calipers with BREM disks. Unsure on the pads. I get a squel now and again.. Thought it was normal, as I put it to a video of a TVR speed 12 I once watched, and that had brakes squeling.. Maybe I will check them? Aerotop Dave
I get this all the time in mine. A good stand on the brakes clears out the dust (apparently) and stops it. Although I have to stay I didn't know about these anti-squeal doobries. If it's any consolation you should try listening to brake squeal with the Aerotop roof off - Owwwww!
