Slow start switch? - (Auto box launch)

I'm hope someone may know what I'm talking about!

I was searching on the site for auto launching techniques as mine is very slow to get off the mark. In one of the threads, Matt H said you can turn off the slow start switch and that Mycroft may have some information on this. Mycroft doesn't post on here anymore so I'm hoping someone else might know if this is possible and how to do it.

I'm a bit concerned as my fastest 0-100kmph (62mph) out of a few attempts was 8.4 seconds. (This was measured with some borrowed timing gear and should be quite accurate). Admittedly, I had a full tank of fuel and there were two of us in the car, plus a load of of timing equipment and with the roof off. But I've read times 6.4-6.7 as the norm (its an N/A), so 8.4 seems really slow. The car feels ok and I think that the poor times are down to bogged down launches so if I could turn off the slow start thing it might help a little.

Cheers

These are things I do and most others seem to to get best results.

12.85 secs is my best qtr under this method.

1. Take the traction control fuse out

2. Put the OD button in so that the orange light says 'OD off'

3. Hold brake with left foot until 2200 rpm

4. Let off brake and floor it

Good luck

Thanks for the replies, I'll have to see how i get on with the powerbraking technique.

I didn't think there was an actual switch btw, I just found a reference to it here, looks like there is a slow start off circuit that can switched off somewhere by altering some of the ECU's wiring. Just being an optimist in the hope it would be a nice easy fix, no such luck then!

Cheers,

Matt
