scooby_doo_do Posted October 27, 2004 Share Posted October 27, 2004 Prob a silly question and something that we all have, but just after i put the gear in first and reverse it makes a "clonk" noise from somewhere underneath... I've noticed it more since i had my new clutch put on, and some freinds of mine have also noticed it and asked what it was... I know the mkiv is suppose to be clonky but i didn't know if there was anything that can be done to fix it ? Thanks in advance as always.... I assumed it was somthing to do with the driveshaft going all the way down the back and something engaging along the way. I guess if it happens to a few of us it must be normal?!?!? scooby_doo_do Posted October 28, 2004 Author Share Posted October 28, 2004 Had a mechanic look at it today on a ramp and he said it was the prop-shaft wearing... He said its not really a problem as its only the initial strain when it goes into gear. He also said that it'll be worth changing so stop the noise and it wouldn't cost a lot of money - This i don't beleive...
