toyotasuprauk
Someone paid me about £190 via paypal. I transferred the money to my bank account and now have about £30 in my account. I want to refund them £23 but when I go the refund screen don’t get the option of the continue button as I don’t have enough funds in my account! I've emailed paypal twice and they don’t reply at least not yet and tried calling twice but gave up after being on hold ten minutes. Bit of long shot but anyone know if this can be done? Can't you just add funds from your bank account to paypal then do the refund?
toyotasuprauk
I can add funds from my bank account but would have to wait for it to clear. Plus it seems to want me to put the £190 in my account just to refund £23 when I already have £30 in my account. Maybe just poorly designed? Lukeyboy2k
You can just send a payment of £23 to the person that sent it to you. (as a totally new transaction - not officially a refund per se providing you have £23 worth of funds) poorly designed - YES! (Paypal in general). toyotasuprauk
That’s what I'm going to have to do Lukeyboy, the reason I didn’t want to do that is the person will then get charged paypal fees. (There plan I'm thinking) Also I remember reading I think on there site that refunds should always be given via the refund route so if the buyer tries to do a charge back it will be for the correct amount. Voo51
i have had this, nower days paypal do not give you the option to refund unless you have the funds in your actual paypal account, they will not take it from anywhere else not even ur bank. toyotasuprauk
I'm finding paypal are crap! If I have £30 in my account why I can’t refund £23 I just don’t know. They think I want to refund the full £190 when I go into the refund screen so there is just no option to continue.
Rayman
You can only refund full amounts, its just another way of squeezing money out of you as now you need to do a whole new transaction.
