Clarkey
'Ullo peeps .. Having problems with this Xbox Live thing. My ISP is NTL. And the modem I've got has a Ethernet port and a USB port. The PC is connected via USB and the Xbox is connected to the Modem with a Ethernet hookup cable. The modem takes it's power from a seperate power source .. not from the USB. The cable is fine .. because the Xbox verifies it & the LED ETNET on the cable modem lights up and flashes. Indicating connectivity. But on the Xbox it says that "No DNS Servers addresses recieved from the DHCP or PPPoe Server. Enter the DNS servers ISP" Wtf ? I just want to play Halo 2! Would appriecate any thoughts. Zantose
Hey mate, with these NTL modems they will only work via USB or ethernet at the same time, not both at once. You have to unplug the usb lead and reset the modem (switching it off then back on again). Atleast thats what my mate had to do. I just use a router myself. Hope this helps
Clarkey
It does indeed mate! Thanks ... I thought the modem that I had was a router/modem with the USB & Ethernet connecter. Apparently not! Cheers!
