just to report I have extended the 12V side of the charger and the oxford optimizer comes with the battery install kit which basically a male and female plug with a dust cap. I leave it on 24/7 now and it says maintain and battery holding charge strong. I bought the battery from Halford and this time I am keeping the receipt for sure.

 

Last battery went flat on the night we first got frost this year, after charging it overnight it doesn't hold full charge and the charger show battery weak at holding full charge.
