xeno
I'm hoping to take my dash out this weekend and read that you should disconnect the battery to prevent the airbag light staying on. I have a 1993 RZ, which doesn't have an airbag. Should I still disconnect the battery? If so, would it affect the HKS F-Con V computer's memory, or will that be ok? Thanks for any help. Epic
iv taken mine off 4 times this month, didnt touch the battery! only thing i did have to do was reset the airbag light, but that was easy to!
xeno
Thanks. I'll leave the battery connected then. I have no airbag, so that one less thing to worry about, unless I crash, then I'll wish I had one. Thanks again.
SteveR
I left the battery connected every time I've taken my dash out (also no airbag), no probs - apart from - you WILL catch the horn from time to time and make yourrself jump
edge
once you have taken it apart and put it back in be assured it wont be the last time. You will be able to take it out in less than 3 mins when your fully qualified
xeno
I had a test run this afternoon. Pulled the entire dash out and put back in, in under an hour. I even fixed the cigarette lighter while I was at it. Seems the previous owner had forgotten to put the plug back on. Left the battery connected. I did scare myself with the CD eject button, but not had the horn yet.
SteveR
Ah yes, forgot the cd eject button - I'm usually carefully balancing the dash at that point, top half unplugged, bottom half in the process of being unplugged, then I nearly (every freaking time!) drop the dash panel on the protruding CD and snap it.
