Bob
As above, really. I'm currently working in Bahrain, but have accepted a job for a different company in Qatar - has anyone experienced it first hand? I've heard it's a bit stricter as far as Islamic laws and customs are concerned (though of course, nowhere near as bad as Saudi!) and living costs are more expensive, but anyone get anything to add to that? Animal
My g/f's mate is from there and we went over on holiday at the start of the year. From what I heard, I think the cost of accommodation is quite high (unless your Qatari) but generally, food and stuff is cheap and it's fairly relaxed as far as foreigners go - the entire workforce is imported, mostly Eastern Eurpoean & Phillipino. I really liked the place for the short while I was there. I'll try and get some more info for you later on.
Bob
Cool, cheers matey. The company will be paying for all my accommodation, car, etc so no problems there. I'll just get a tarpaulin for the missus and cut some eye-holes out
Animal
You're lass should be fine. 'Normal' clothes are acceptable, as long as you're not being blatently obvious. As I said, the place has a massive immigrant workforce and seems very relaxed and tolerant.
