Hard as Dell

From when i got my laptop its had a hard life. I left it switched on downloading something, and it just happened to be underneath the 32" tv that was on a stand from the wall. Anyway the TV fell off the stand and landed on the laptop, missing the keyboard hitting it to the right of the mouse:

It still worked fine after that, which happened about a year ago.

The other weekend, i'd had one or two too many and went to get my laptop out of the car to take back into the hotel. Well something must have jumped out at me and made me fall , leaving the laptop with some battle scars:

But the old girl keeps plodding on :) , as you can see the screen is still fine, i thought it might have been a bit dodgy where the screen casing was damaged, but its fine. Good strong laptops them Dells;)

You should see some of the machines I'm expected to fix at work. Fair enough, I could with new parts. Trouble is, I'm made to repair them with parts from unrepairable laptops - i.e I have around 25 D600's all with various problems/damage.

One of my users has had to make do with a secondhand screen with pressure mark, slightly loose hinges, a keyboard with two "3" keys as the 2 key went missing, and several dents/scratches all over the case.

But electrically - the laptops trundle on! SOOOO much better than IBM (I mean Lenovo) machines....

I can only hope HP are similar quality - as we've been told to switch to them now :(

Is that an Inspiron 6000 mate?? If so, I have the same laptop. It's been in a few scrapes here. It's been dropped. When my daughter was nearly 2 she had a tendency to sit on the keyboard, it's never missed a beat. Oh and just for good measure she now likes to close the screen then sit on the lot.

It's still working seamlessly. :)
