garetheves
Bought a PS3 yesterday, and have so far been very impressed. However, having previously play Rainbow Six on the Xbox 360 i thought id see what it was like on the PS3. Expecting awesome graphics, i was a little disappointed. The picture seems very blurry and "pixely" and nowhere near as crisp as on the 360. Just wondering if anyone else had played it and thought the same or is something to do with my PS3 or disk. F1 and Motorstorm, graphically wise, are fine and ive checked all the settings on the system itself and they are all fine. The only display options in the game arent really options, they are just to help you set your TV brightness and contrast up.

GazzaGSi
I dont know if you are running it through a HD TV or not but I had a similar problem with R6 Vegas on my PS3. Found out that the game looks horrible at 1080i. Turn it down to 720p and it'll be alot crisper. Even though it states 1080i on the box it looks awful compared to 720p. Ive just entered the casino so its starting to get good now. Nice & colourful too Im enjoying it

garetheves
Given it a try yet mate? I did last night and it does look a lot crisper. Still not quite up to the Xbox 360 standard which im a little dissapointed with, but good enough. Any idea why its a little blurry and doesnt run in 1080i very well?? Cheers buddy
GazzaGSi
I dont know. I had the same problem and while reading a review of the game the last paragraph was like, 'o yeh, do not try this in 1080i, set the PS3 to 720p' but why I do not know. Apparently neither this (R6V) or Splinter Cell: Double Agent look as good as the 360 version due to the developers, Ubisoft, just doing a direct port rather than rebuilding the game for the PS3 hardware. Which in all fairness I can see why, I wouldnt want to have to make the same game twice lol. Personally though I think R6V & SC: DA are great as I havent played them on any other format. Looking at the release dates & titles to come the PS3 should start picking up around September/October time, until then though not much decent stuff is being released except for what is already out. Cheers

Cheers Ive played and finished SC: DA on my Wii and its a class game. Really enjoyed it. I was looking the other day at upcoming titles on the PS3 and i agree untill sept/oct there isnt much at all but then the likes of PES, Metal Gear Solid, Grand Theft Auto4 are all released so should be good
GazzaGSi
If the games werent so limited at the minute I would of overlooked splinter cell and oblivion as they werent my kinda game but as there wasnt much else to buy i thought i'd give them ago. Glad i did, SC: DA was awesome. Some of the best gaming moments ive had in that. Thoroughly enjoyed it which is why i recently bought R6V. I like Oblivion too and usually dont even blink at games like this, more of a footy/racing person but with hardly any racing games or a footy game at all I gave it ago and that turned up trumps too! The future certainly is looking bright though
