Onelife Nofear
from what i understand you should be fine if you still have one cat in! if you remove the other then j-spec are prone to overboosting but you can get away with putting in a restrictor to limit the boost until you get a boost gauge and then your boost controller. I just had mine fully decatted at last!!! :-)
Jake
Running with only one cat you will *probably* be OK boost-wise but there's no guarantee. Personally I'd get a boost gauge immediately, it's just not worth putting it off and you're going to have to buy one sooner or later.
250horses
if I over boost wont the stock fuel cut defender cut in ????? Its gonna take some time to obtain and install a boost gauge
Alex
You should be fine Charlie...if you haven't got an FCD fitted you can't do any harm.
Grazer
Ok - with one cat out I was hitting 1.5bar boost. I do not have an FCD and the ECU looks stock, so who knows why there was no fuel cut. Got down to 1.2 with a CW restrictor ring. Now that I am fully decat, I'm starting to hit 1.4 on cold days (with the restrictor ring in place). Guess I need a tighter ring (insert joke here). I would recommend a boost guage as I could of been driving around at 1.4 for a while.
Alex
You cannot hit 1.5bar with an FCD. Does your ECU have a gold stocker on it with MINES written on it?

Alex
Erm yeah without...hmmm....it's voltage driven. When the ECU reads a specific voltage from the MAP sensor it shuts off the fueling...FCD's clamp the signal so it never (or delays) reaches that voltage. However an aftermarket ECU like a Mines has the FCD integrated into it. Bit confused about you hitting 1.5bar...
