Auto kick down+ power

Just wondering if this normal?

Driving In D at 50-60mph.

No boost as not accelaring.

When I kick down the gear box changes down to 2rd the revs rise to about 5000 rpm however the car feels like the power from the turbos are not there.

If I keep my foot down the power will envenually come in sometime almost near the red line.

Is this the lag from the tubos as they need to spin up or do I have a problem? UK spec

If Floor it from standstill then alls fine

ardasaliah,

Yeah it's a common problem. Mine does it now and then. I've seen enough posts by other folks about the same thing that I don't worry about it.

I think it's to do with the second turbo not having been pre-spooled. One of the more technical guys could probably explain it better.

Don't worry about it mate.

If you know you're going to boot it, click the OD button so that you drop to 3rd let the revs build for a few seconds and then welly it and you'll notice that you dont have that problem.

Second solution, foot off the accelerator and reapply throttle as soon as you notice it isn't working!

There are tons of threads about this problem
