Mobile phone advice

My old phone is about dead, so i need a replacement soon.

Really not into phones at all but I'd rather get something half decent for a good price.

I'm on orange but when the contract runs out I'd probably like to go payg, so unlocked would be ideal (or one on orange to start with that I can get unlocked when I need to).

I've seen the Sony-Ericson v630i (on Vodaphone) which looks good and gets great reviews for £69.99, which is good value for money but it would appear it can't be unlocked at the moment, is that true?

Anyone have any other suggestions? Don't really care that much for features but ease of use is something I'd care about a bit.

any thoughts anyone?

if you're on an orange contract at the moment just give them a ring when your contract is up and tell them you want to just cancel as you don't use it enough.

I threatened to cancel my contract and got a free Samsung D900, 250 texts and 175 x-network anytime minutes out of them for a tenner a month.

Pretty sure you can work out for yourself that's better than paying for your phone AND then buying credit every month ;)

I just bought the sony erison k810i and its excellent.

Sorry for the slight thread hijack as well but how much did you get charged for your dash to be spayed?

I just got a quote for £50 squids.

ok I'll check that model out, I've just seen that the v630i is vodaphone exclusive so unlocking it might not be easy/possible anyway

regarding the dash, think you're thinking of someone else, not me dude although £50 sounds reasonable I'd pay that or do it myself

It's a good idea, the snag being there is a long way to go on the contract and the phone is just about dead, so I need one now not in the future... I'm talking
