PAG
I have taken the undertray off and can see where the brackets bolt to but have discoverd that i dont have the correct loom.Once the spoiler is in place is it possible to deploy it (its in the raised position)is it just a case of putting power to the motor if so how will i do this? Please help me get this done:)
bolarbag
Its a bit of a pointless addition m8, like 75%of people scrap it, and as your NA, its not going to make a difference to your car performance wise at all In response to your question, If you are using the spoiler with a switch configuration then you will just need to give the motor the required power, 12V I imagine, but could be wrong
PAG
i like the look of it dont care if it makes any performance different just think its smart:) So you rekon if the motors powerd up it should deploy just dont want to fry the motor lol
bolarbag
The motor powered up(do you mean when th engine is fired up?) Again, I'm not sure if it is a straight 12V so I would leave it off til that can be confirmed...and I suspect it might be fused too I imagine stock that the ecu controls the operation of the active spoiler, but it certainly would work with a switch, you just got to know the operating Voltage
PAG
was just going to connect it up to the battery with a couple of wires frankenstein style to make sure it deploys and its clearing everything .I have the wiring diagram but i am no sparky just to keen me thinks.Il get it mounted up and then get someone who knows about electrics to have a gander. PAG
Have got the spoiler on now but its in the up position how do i get it down to put the rest of the bolts in???????????????????? Can it be pulled down with brute force or will it just break????
JamesC
Did you fit the standard button and ECU?
PAG
have the button and ecu but no wiring so am going to wire it up so it can be used manualy the loom isnt fitted to my supe.would it be possible to power up the motor from the battery just to lower it? bolarbag
Thinking about it, its going to be slightly more complex that just a straight 12V, if indeed it is actually 12V, you will need to send a 12Vsignal to the motor to bring the spoiler down, then a 12V to bring it back up, I'd do a bit more research first m8, I'd say a relay would be more in order for that, you dont want to blow the motor you just bought! PAG
Yeah your right i dont want to fook it up im not worried about it going back up at the mo the cars off the road i would just like to get it down so that i can get it all bolted up properly then get the electrics done at a later date. PAG
Thats it mounted up and its sitting good i think managed it in about three hours on my own. Now for the wiring what kind of relays will i need and where can i get them from? Also what gauge of wire should i use and will i need to fit inline fuses? PAG
Yep had a good look about when the old undertray was off and had a look behind the dash where the ecu was going to go and nothing there that i could see.No plug for the switch either so will just have to make my own loom up.Did yours have the wiring? Matt _Aero top_
the reason i ask is mines an N/A and i can't find the ecu loom but its got the plug for the spoiler motor , ( did you check behind the front indicator or under the drivers headlight ) So i've got to have the ecu loom somewhere its just hiding from me . Has your car got ABS
PAG
yeah checked and double checked when the lights were out couldnt find anything to do with the spoiler.Yes i have ABS sounds strange that you would have one and not the other must be as you said hiding from you lol.Why ask about ABS?
