hey guys,

having a really bad time here with my tt supra, its been at the garage now for ages, and everythings going wrong with it!

it broke down for the first time the other week due to a fault with the angle crank sensor, so we changed it went down the road and 2 miles later the orange engine warning light pops back on again and it now has the error code 14 - ignition signal loss!

i really need a wiring diagram for the ignition system, but cant seem to find one on the internet as of yet, has anyone ever had a error code 14 and what did they do?

any help would be great, i think i might need to call up a speicialist but have never used one as this is the first time my supra has gone wrong in 3 years of owning it, any advise on who to call?

cheers,

matt.

you will get error code 14 with coil pack clips - I know I get it quite regularly; recently not so much; try wiggling the no 1 coil pack clip that where mine always gives a bit of bother. Its really a weak spot and can totally immobilise the car sometimes ; I have replaced the clips with new ones etc but for some reason every now and then this reoccurs. If you just had new plugs this will most likely be the cause - even if not Ill bet its something simple like this.

Dito- this has happened to me on two occasions. Check the clips that attached to the coil packs- check to two little wires that goes into each clip.

does the car start at all?

ther car starts fine and when u reset the ecu u can drive it for a while untill its warmed up/or u do a few miles in it? then it does the fault and goes into limp mode revs to about 1800rpm, if u try and put your foot down it just limits/restricts power almost fully.

im doing the gunball in a few weeks.......but this looks like it might just of fooooked me chances, it could be one of a few things but i was told coil packs do not give this fault code error 14?

its either the signal amplifier/problem with ignition wiring/CPM!

any more thoughts anyone?

its really strange, we just changed the angle crank sensor which was the first fault code....but this is def the same fault before we changed the crank sensor thats come back?

cheers for the wiring diagrams,

m.

someones telling porkys m8 error 14 is ignition related ,indirect loss of power to spark plugs fits that bill - I have read the error enough times to know this

hey rich,

thats great news then hopefully, fingers crossed it might just be something simple like a dodgee coil pack clip or connector?

i know theres alot been stripped of to fit the ACS.....so it could make sense, the only strange thing is the fact it runs fine for a short period of time or until it gets upto temp before the fault kicks back in?

thx again mate,

:D

any luck?

Rich

hey rich,

would u belive it.....lol

it was exactly that, the main feed to the coilpacks behind the engine at the back, was not quite in right, when all the clips and packs were checked thats all it was.......thing is i think its just cost me £460 for for someone to clip a connector back together:rolleyes:

i did have a new angle crank sensor fitted and that was a ball ache to do......but man im gutted!

also rich it went on the rolling road after wards but was hitting over 400+bhp so i couldn't even get a proper dyno reading as the machine was maxed out at 400bhp......not a good week for me man.

cheers for the great advise rich, also this is the first time anyone has worked on my car apart from me.....and with the labour costs these days it wont be happening soon again if i can help it.......lol

thx,

m.
