terribleturner
Forgot about this. I always say that one of my big fears while riding my motorbike is a bird flying into me. Imagine it getting caught between me and the bike then going mad trying to escape!! Anyways, so im coming home from work Friday and coming to a nice long stretch were i sometimes open up a little. I look over at the petrol station to check for police and then over to the Junction to my right (you can see clearly for 3/400 yards all round). All's good and i increase my speed. As im just about to go through the lights im at about 90/100 leptons, and then BAM. A bloody bird flew straight into my shoulder and hit the side of my helmet. I was stable but slightly shocked. No blood or feathers attached to me and i've been back since and can't see any dead birds on the road. One fear down i feel now
DaveK
I had one hit the fairing / mirror on my Fireblade once. Damn annoying - and it cracked the fairing. Actually, with that and the deer, my history of animals and motorcycles isn't really very good.
AndyT
Lucky man. I once had a soddin' wasp get caught in my lid' Was mad as hell. Must have looked a right dick trying to stop the bike and rip me lid off at the same time. Lol...
GeordieSteve
Not nice! Must have hit with some force! I done the wasp one a few weeks back. Spent a while trying to waft it away from my visor before realising it was on the inside!

Your 40+mph + bees top of 20 mph = ouch!. Lucky it was the eyebrow mate. I always keep it down now, not just cos of the bugs but the amount of crap on the roads that gets flung at us like nice gravel chips, christ they hurt even through the leather. terribleturner
See that's my problem, i hate having the visor down, even in the rain (and that hurts).
AndyT
See that's my problem, i hate having the visor down, even in the rain (and that hurts). Know what you mean bud. Got caught out in the rain coming back from Poole Quay once, didn't have my clear job on, twilight + rain = blind as a bat. That hurt. Lesson learned. Great meet that by the way. Quay is shut down, except for bikes, every Tuesday between April and September. Cool machines.
