Guest sindrejl Posted May 7, 2007 Share Posted May 7, 2007 Sometimes, and only sometimes when I start up the Supra a hard knocking noise comes from the engine. I cant even hear where it comes from mainly because it wont happen again if I stop the engine and kranks it up again.. It also seems like the sound happens more frequently if I've driven the car a little harder. Anyone in here knows what it can be? The sound is only there when Im cranking, when the engine is started up its totally fine. The knock sound seems to been there for good 4 months I think. AndyT Posted May 7, 2007 Share Posted May 7, 2007 Hi. Well if the sound's happened for 4 months it has probably ruled out much of the major expensive stuff. Look towards the starter motor mounts perhaps. Maybe a auxiliary pulley. I'm sure more expert members will be along and narrow this down for you though. Good luck.
