Newbie, help questions

My supra has a stock stereo an old skool panisonic thing (tape player / cd changer). Its died! completely.......however i cant see how to get it out. Looks like the place i bought it might have had a go cos its slight scratched around the egdes.

 

Its not like the normal ones ive removed in the past, it doesnt seem to have grooves down the side to poke in removal tools etc. Any ideas? i can get pics........its a double din.

 

I need to get it out and lower the arial! as its stuck up! which is very tempting to the kids around here to bend it over!! lol

 

Any recommendations on what alarm to fit and what head unit? i dont want to spend a fortune but a decent one would be nice.

I would get a good cat 1 alarm like a clifford or toad, and something like a pioneer or alpine head unit....

It is quite easy to remove the dash, I put the job off for ages but in the end it took about 1/2 hour to remove the dash, fit the new stereo and re-fit the dash panels.
