Mike M
Damn sequential system. This has started happening all the time. The FAQ suggested the EGBV but I had this the last time and the car felt weird and struggling to rev until 5+k. It would also only do it once as the tubby was spooled and ok through the next gears. This time the car pulls smooth right up to 5k then No 2 rushes in and is the same every gear. I've tested all the actuators, pressure tank and have new hoses fitted on most parts and 10 - 12 PSI opened them all up fine. Oh and its fine in TTC. I think its the IACV vsv sticking or the valve not opening fully under boost. I know it's not the EGCV sticking as I know what it feels like to accidently leave the vsv disconnected. Wouldn't mind some second opinions though. Cheers Mike
Bob
Could it be a kink in one of the EGBV hoses?
Mike M
Hi Bob, from what I can see the EGBV operates fine although slightly slower than the other two but I think thats due to the pressurising a larger volume to operate it. It really doesnt feel like the EGBV this time and it does it through the gears too.
Mike M
I feel like leaving it TTC permanently. Especially when vsv's are 207 quid each.
Lucifer
EGBV hose - always.
Bob
If it is a kink or a small split in the hose, then it may cause it to operate but slower than normal (I think). You say you replaced the hoses - did you replace them with silicon ones by any chance?

Mike M
Hmmm, yeah replaced the hoses with silver silicon ones. This might explain why when in TTC the valves closed quite quickly where as before it could sit for days and still hold pressure. I take it the silicon hoses are prone to flex at high temps and leak. Mike M
EGBV hose - always. I would agree Lucifer if it only did it once i.e. 1st gear and it was fine through the next gears but its doing this everytime. As I understand it you would feel the long lag in say 1st due to the EGBV not pre spooling No 2, but in 2nd gear No 2 is now prespooled so no lag and everything feels fine until the next time you make a sudden demand for No-2.
