Elmo
I've removed the 3 bolts but the headlight (Driver side) won't come out, it's lose and will move but won't pull out, what am I doing wrong? I knew I should of left it until the weekend! Cheers!
Class One
The nut that attaches to the front structure of the car above the bumper has a raised lip. You need to lift it over this lip, then wiggle it out.Be patient it will come, just takes a bit of doing.
Elmo
I've tried wiggling, pulling and swearing but the bugger refuses to come out! The light is starting to fade so I've just took a bit more skin off my knuckles putting the bolts back on. All I want to do is change the bloody sidelight bulb!! The supe is a great car, but it wan't designed for DIY repairs, the most basic jobs are a real pain in the arse!
ChrisSZ
You don't need to take the light units out to change the sidelight bulbs but, as said above, they need a fair bit of wiggling! I found that the two long studs which hold the lamps onto the wings can be a bugger to get off as the thread catches on the locator tabs. Perseverance mate :)
Elmo
I could'nt get my hand behind the light to get the bulb out so thought it would be easier to get the light out and have more room to change the bulb. The MOT man failed it today so I need to get it changed ASAP.
Fifty
sidelight is on a weird plastic stalk which twists and pulls out, bugger to get to sometimes Rich
Elmo
Yeah, I might get my mrs to see if she can get her hand in there, but she won't be happy if she breaks a nail!
Class One
If its on the nearside, it's easier to take the battery out to get to the side light. If it's on the offside, just remove the front bit of your airbox (2clips). Then you'll have enough room to get your hand in to get at the sidelights. Elmo
Cheers, I'll have another crack at it tomorrow. Unfortunately, I'm not the most patient guy in the world, I'm suprised I've managed to control myself and not break anything!
