tbourner
Since fitting my boost gauge (might be a coincidence), my car tweets when the revs drop low enough, roughly below 2000. Only when I lift off the throttle though, if I'm slightly on throttle it stops. It's sort of a reasonably high speed tweeting noise (no it's not a trapped bird!!!). I've checked the hoses on the boost gauge and can't see any obvious leek points. pressure levels are roughly -20InHg at idle, drops to slightly less after a throttle lift, and boosts to approximately 15 psi. Any ideas? I wanna come see dude at some point for a bit of a service if pos so might ask him then.
Digsy
Does sound like a leak. Lifting off will create a strong vacuum in the intake manifold because the throttle is shut but the pistons are still sucking air in but only through the idle valve. If you crack the throttle even a little the vacuum will be reduced.
richy2jz-gte
you have a leak on your pipeing or the boost guage itself.
tbourner
Would a leak on the boost gauge itself cause a chirping from around the engine bay, or would the noise come from where the leak is?
