fishman
As some of you may know, i am looking for a first car, and was going to buy a toyota starlet sr, but the owner suposedly wrote it off by crashing it into a tree a few days before i was going to buy it. So now the hunt for a car is back on... I like starlets, but do you have any other ideas on what i could get ?? Pref. japenese. Cheers

silvershark44
I had a 2.0ltr Celica GT at 18. Was a really good car, and very similar to the supra in terms of shape. Good mpg and very reliable! Can get them for peanuts these days.

Rayman
Honda civic Vtec! Make it into a type r or jordon replica but without the badges. Slam it to the deck with some lightweight alloys on, strip some weight out of it and your left with a nice handling car.

Gord R
Im in the same position as you. i go 17 on sat.. and i have to say its a hard task finding something that looks good, has resonable performance and isnt silly on insurance. The new swifts are very good , but are holding values very well.. Are you insuring on your own policy or will you be adding a parent as a named driver? Best quotes iv had by a long way is with the NFU they are offering a superb deal atm..so maybe worth trying them for insurance , something to bare in mind if you do as mentioned as above and make a car look like a "more desirable/ faster" model you could get hit with insurance..i found that with a Leon Anyway...let us know how you get on. Tom
i've only just passed. 17. m8, need to get the first car out of the way and then its saving time for the monster supra at 21 :) Ahh cool, well the 1.3 starlet sr isn't a bad choice, it was actually my first choice of car when I was 17 if your wanting to save money for the supra then it's a good start, 1.3 will be nippy enough for a while, could then get a glanza turbo which is even more fun . If I were you I'd run the SR for a couple of years then get an s13/S14 200sx or E30 beemer till you get the supe, gives you some rwd experience then before you jump into the beast.
