dini_the_owl
Just wondering if ayone had any issues with installing the fmic with these alloy pipes,i would like to use the stock airbox but there is not enough clearance to get across and down in the inner wing area(its as if the airbox need to go forward 1" or so) .does the top pipe need to be cut as i didnt want to loose the flared ends nor the stock airbox, any ideas would be helpfull! andy they have the right hand pipes the wrong way around but the airbox side is very similar to mine to give you an idea! flukey-lukey
That picture is scooby piping, the supe takes a different route. You'll not be able to keep the stock airbox as I found out the other week, the pipe goes straight acroos it and down into the wing

You'll not be able to keep the stock airbox as I found out the other week, the pipe goes straight acroos it and down into the wing It depends how much the pipe cuts off the stock airbox, I managed to keep mine by filing out the drivers side wing and adjusting the pipe to suit!! if the worst comes to the worst and you wish to keep your stock air box, im sure you could get that section of pipe made up
dini_the_owl
hi, pic is of supra piping just the right hand side is wrong way around or wrong way up whichever way you look at it, cheers mikey i thought of that but didnt really wanna do that but its certainly an option,i was thinking of another 135 degree bend where it comes from the inner wing,id just have to cut the top pipe though......hmmm

mikeyb10supra
Hmm ok I see what you mean, mine had a slight curve to it and was a lot thicker, thats going to be tricky....ok then looks like what you first feared then, do away with the stock box and fit a replacement filter or get a new pipe bent!! speak to Chris W for this I believe he has access to pipe bending facilities or a business collegue of his does!! If you go down the getting rid of the air box route, I would still try to incorporate the airbox design by maybe enclosing the replacement element with a stainless box so its closed off from the hot engine bay temps
dini_the_owl
yeah i was trying to steer clear of that for that reason,i may try getting a blue hose with a 135 degree bend in first as it may help but not sure?
