The Road Warrior
Hi all, Recently test drove a Supra & both turbos came in v.late. 1st at 3000 & 2nd at 5500 RPM. Apart from that drove fine & seemed in very good condition. Done a search & it seems this could be down to a leaking/split primary air feed pipe from turbos or knackered ETTC. Is this one of those faults that could be a range of things & v.expensive to put right? Anyone experienced this & know the solution? The car was a JSpec, overdue for a service & had no mods, about 60k miles. Thanks
Paul -C-
Could be a boost leak somewhere. If it is it wouldn't cost much to fix, so long as you can find it
Jake
Yeah I'd be looking for an air leak somewhere, possibly on the the small hoses in this pic if someone has tried the TTC mod in the past. Another possibility could be a leaking BOV, have you got another you could try?
The Road Warrior
Thanks for your replies, if it's an air leak it shouldn't be too expensive to put right. Was just curious really. Both turbo's seemed healthy enough, just late! Excuse my ignorance - not v.technical, what's a bov then? & how much are they?

Sorry, BOV = 'Blow Of Valve' (or Dump Valve if you prefer) Anything from a tenner for a secondhand OE one up to £Silly for those wanky ones that make your japanese supercar sound like a bus.
