edd_t
are you using the correct cable! thought the one that came with the 360 in the box wasnt for HD. and you need to buy it seperatly, like this one? (360 HD Component cable) http://www.play.com/Games/Xbox360/4-/719756/-/Product.html?searchstring=hd+cable&searchsource=0 http://www.tvcables.co.uk/cgi-bin/tvcables/joytech-xbox-360-digital-av-cable.html?id=Lu7KyQDg
Daston
The premium 360 has HD cables as well as the red white and yellow
LuxobargeTT
Try putting the red and white leads into the bottom red and white sockets, I know the ones above it say output, I think the bottom ones are input.
affney
i just thaught you plug the hd cables in the scart adaptor then plug that in a scart socket could be wrong though

Cant you just use that and run it into the scart connection on your TV..? I bought and use a component cable but sadly looks like your TV does not have comp in. What connections come out of the Xbox as well as the VGA plug..?
edd_t
woohoo ive got premium, all i need now is a HDTV!
Ewen
Assuming you have the component X-Box cable with the switchable HD output, you could get a component-to-HDMI adaptor.... discussed here http://forum.gefen.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1139
Daston
I have tried the red and white sockets all that does if give me sound on AV3 but no pic or a pic on AV4 and no sound. I have also tried putting it into scart and it just defaults as a normal TV

Martin
Hi there Had a similar problem with my Pioneer. Great picture but no sound, set it up dead right but didn't work. I had to leave the RGB in and plug the red and white audio into the scart adapter which came with xbox 360. Then plug the scart into one of the sockets which worked with the RGB conection. This worked for me. Worth a try..

The Restorer
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/systemsetup/xbox360/accessories/vgahdcable.htm Your VGA cable is black and audio connections white. I have a MadCatz one here (albeit still packaged), but along with VGA it has the two audio connectors, all as one piece. Is yours the same? The link above may help as well. Daston
aye mine is the same as that however my green red and blue cables go into a vga adaptor but my TV does not have a red and white socket for the vga sound only a headphone type socket
The Restorer
Looking at your product manual you have everything setup correctly. http://www.tradenet.sharp.co.uk/files/Consumer_Electronics/LCD_Television/LC37XD1E/LC37XD1E145.pdf With the VGA in there and the audio in EXT4 they should work together. We know the two audio cables independently work so the problem is either down to the sound input on EXT4 or your jack. Try connecting the sound via the jack to the input on your PC and see if that works. If not it's the jack else it looks like the tv connector is faulty (Doubt that though). Daston
does the MS official VGA connector come with a jack?
Snooze
By the way, the Sharp TVs (if yours is full HD, I'm assuming it's probably the 37XD1E?) won't actually do full HD (1080p) through the VGA or component inputs. You can only actually get 1080p on them via HDMI inputs. Still it's moot anyway, as I believe the 360 only supports 1080i output at the moment (MS announced a firmware upgrade for 1080p support, but there's still no way of actually getting a 1080p signal OUT of the box!). Daston
yeah I found that out when I tried getting 1080p seems a bit cheeky of MS to say "oh yes the 360 can do 1080p however there is no way of getting it to do it". Surly it would be like all our supras still being limited to 112mph and no derestrictors.
