Guest dolly1350
just had major service and new clutch, had to change a noisy charge pump but now engine management light refuses to go out. Car runs great and appears ok anyone got any ideas? Thanks Chris
ChrisSZ
Check the fluid levels on the charge cooler and check for error codes mate. Have a look on the GT4OC forum for more info
Guest dolly1350
Thanks for the info Chris - is the coolant cap the one on the top of the turbo? Next to the cap is what appears to be a sensor, the fluid level is about an inch down from the cap. To the rear of this is a small white bottle connected by a hose at the bottom, is the an overflow storage bottle or should it have fluid in it? Sorry to appear a bit thick but I am clearly not a mechanic!
ChrisSZ
Thanks for the info Chris - is the coolant cap the one on the top of the turbo? That's the one - on the charge cooler itself (the black box on top of the engine) - fill it to the mark and reset the ecu (remove the efi fuse for about 30secs - 1min)
tDR
Yep will be chargecooler fluid level - they're really sensitive for it, assuming we're talking ST205's. Error code 49 I think it is... Just top it up with 4-life red and reset as above, should be fine then. Cheers, Brian.
Guest dolly1350
Thanks chris that was a major help. Saw this the other day made me laugh. Nissan Micra drivers: Attatch a lighted sparkler to the roof of your car before starting a long journey. You drive the things like dodgems anyway so it may as well look like one!
