Can it get through the side window demist vent somehow? I'd be alright if there was a gap down that driver side somewhere to fit it through, sort of where the door meets the dash. The pipe should be able to be routed straight out of the gauge pod, under the dashboard and under the bonnet from there. You shouldn't see any of it. tbourner
Yeah but how do you get under the dashboard from on top? Cut a hole? I will eventually get Oil pressure and Voltmeter gauges (what's the point in knowing EGT? Is that important on standard ish car?). Can't afford more gauges yet though!! geoffvalenti
If you're determined to mount the gauge on the top of the dash, other than having the piping showing, I suppose you'd have to cut a hole. Sorry to keep banging the same drum, but if you're considering other gauges a pillar mount is by far the best idea You can always blank off the extra holes until they're needed. Why do you want to know the EGT? Mainly when you've upped the boost and probably not improved the fuelling as much as you could/should You can see if its running lean and hopefully back off the loud pedal and make a mental note to get those bigger injectors
tbourner
That's probably a good reason not to get one!!! You lot were right, I was intending to leave this car as it is, just get a boost gauge and a few other little things.............. notice the word was in that sentence? My list has grown somewhat, BPU has appeared near the top, and the 'moving out' plan has been put back a little bit more! Bloody cars! Anyway, pillar pod! Where does the pipe go from there? Out the bottom of the pillar pod sleeve thingy and then...........? It's the same problem, if I put it on the top right of the dash, the pipe'll be in exactly the same place as if I had a pillar pod mount.
geoffvalenti
The pipe should come out of the bottom of the pillar pod, straight under the dashboard and through to the engine bay. Try removing the pillar cover and you'll see how it fits.
