Good presentation software, any recommendations?

I need something that for instance;

 

you have a picture on screen, will then draw a circle round it by a mouse click....

 

the next click will take you to the next slide which will be a bigger picture of the area inside the circle, but it does that transition from one slide to another, like a zoom in type of thing.

Will MS Powerpoint not do the job?

It may do, I just cant find a feature that does a zoom then pull function

In my limited knowledge of Powerpoint, I don't think you can do that, but you could OTOH "fake it" by having a second identical slide with the red circle drawn, then a third slide with the zoomed image.

Assuming it's a set presentation, and no-one will say, "hang on, can you zoom in on that other bit?"

Its the look of pulling the zoomed bit out to full screen i'm after.

run this slideshow, best I could come up with in powerpoint but "may" be the effect you are after.

select object then go to custom animations - you can alter the timing, size etc. quite easily
