Guest moddy
hi, after 5 months i still have a tinkling noise coming from the underside of my supe, i have to date changed the exhaust, front pads, and today rear pads. this noise is like dropping small steel bars on a concrete floor or dragging chains. it doesn't sound as if something is seriously wrong, just like something is catching. i cannot see anything that can be the cause of it, believe me i have scoured every cm of the underside including nooks and crannies, maybe 20 times. this noise is only apparent when taking off from standstill or traveling at less than 5mph but it is quite loud. ps please help me before this turns into an obsession 98 tt auto 58k thanks

Guest 2jayzman
I had almost the same thing, but in two locations. On first accel it made the noise, but went away. Then when I let off the gas it returned. First I found the exhaust clamps from the down pipe were loose. Tightened those up and the noise wasn't as bad. The second was the pressure plate. Some num nut don't torque the bolts down. After re-installing the trans. Everything was golden. Why the noises were at the same time? When the engine would move back and forth from accel to deccel it put pressure on these parts. Causeing my head ache. 94 T-88 4" all the way
