Christmas - A review

I dont expect much from re-makes, and true enough this one was a turkey. The storyline was cliche'd and predictable, the characters unconvincing and uninvolving. I had trouble identifying with them and really couldnt care less how their miserable lives unfolded before me. The 'daughters boyfriend' was something new for this year, an attempt by the director to inject a dangerous element into a family rated sugery sweet storyline. It backfired badly, his lame attempt at portraying a lovable drunkard with a modicom of guitar playing skills and a disarming habit of dropping the odd 'f' anf 'c' words into the dinner conversation, soon became unbearable to watch. All in all, if it hadnt had the three main stars from last years smash hit, I'd have turned off half way through and gone to bed.
