Hello... Just what I've been searching for...

Was that £30 inc post or £30 + £9?

Have to watch these...

Now we can play PS1 games and ISO's, we need all the space we can get.

Edit: it was £35 plus postage :innocent:, the one i lost was £30 but still a really good price :D

mine was this one

gzaerojon, could you do me a favour and check that you can fill up all 4gb (in practice about 3.6Gb I think)? I could do with one of these for my phone, but I know that loads of the ones on ebay are half the stated capacity.

By the way, there's not a chance in hell that is a genuine Sony card. Not that it necessarily matters as the price is so good.

Thanks.

'fraid so. Do a search for fake memory stick on google, and you'll find endless pages about them.

I have a 2Gb "Genuine Sony!" fake memory stick from ebay. It's worked fine ever since I got it. It has the hologram and everything.

I was more annoyed about getting a fake Sandisk Ultra II SD card, as I'd actually paid extra to go for the higher speed card! It's best just to assume that everything on ebay is fake, and buy with that in mind.

There's this page but it's a bit old:

http://reviews.ebay.co.uk/FAKE-Sony-Memory-Stick-Pro-Duo-MagicGate-Cards-Exposed_W0QQugidZ10000000001535763

I'll probably buy one from your seller, since you are able to fill up the card.

ValueMedia are selling 4gb duos for 76 quid (which I'd expect to be genuine), so I think it's worth the gamble to go for the fake ones.

Jon,

Could you do me a favour and do a quick test for me please?

I've just bought a card off of Amazon and found it to be a fake. I've been having lots of trouble trying to run ISO's and PS1 games off it.

What are you using yours for and have you had any errors?

Could you follow these instructions and let me know what it says please.

know there is many threads about fakes but the best way to determine if you have a fake is to highlight your Mem stick in the PSP's menu and push TRIANGLE. Select INFORMATION...

You'll see the user capacity, free space remaining, and the last line will have:

MagicGate

If it says "Supported" then your card is real and your ISO/PS1 issues are not related.

If it says "Unknown" then your card is fake and this is the cause of your ISO/PS1 issues.

Many Thanks,

Paul

I got my card from this seller today. As expected it's a fake, but it appears to work fine so far.

The spelling mistakes on the back of the packaging are entertaining:

"Optimum for recording of High pixel still images and High quality mowing images." :D

I just tried that PSP info menu, but I don't think my firmware is new enough to include that information (and I bought mine for my phone anyway).
