I've decorated my drum kit instead.

I don't have kids and very rarely spend much time in the flat over xmas so have never seen the point of decorations. Plus I'm a tight-arse.

I've now fashioned a frame and arranged the lights in a pentagram ('cos it's METAL!)

Yeah, Yamaha DTXpress II. I can't play an acoustic kit anymore cos of my duff shoulder - I physically can't reach all the drums. My mates still laugh at the sight of me trying to do a monster drum solo on a full drum kit and falling off my chair trying to reach.

The Yamaha & Roland kits sound fantastic, the Roland TD10 is the one to have, comes with mesh heads as standard (I've got to upgrade my rubber pads to these soon) and feels like an acoustic to play. The only thing that let's them down (not too sure about the Roland as I've not had a proper good play with one) is the cymbal sounds. They're not bad, but just don't have anything like the attack of the real thing. I've been playing on stage for the last 3 years with this kit & it sounds spot on, it's a breeze to set up too, I have all my cables taped to the frame, so it's just a case of unfold it, set up the cymbals and plug it into the desk, job done.
