Dave Haggas
Had my uk spec on a ramp today and removed the plastic guard from under the engine.I replaced the oil filter and the oil.I drained the diff of oil and replenished.I then removed the bolts on the steering rack to replace the old mounting bushes. The bushes were replaced then I refitted the plastic guard. This is ALL I did. I drove approx 1 mile and then went to overtake a car,I put my foot down and the car lost all power!I tried the throttle and it was as if the cable had snapped. The car I was trying to overtake carried on and I had to get on the hard shoulder a bit lively! When I came to a halt the revs were going mad up and down,so I tried to keep it steady with the throttle ,which kept it from dying but would not rev at all?Just a VERY lumpy tick over.Decided to put it in drive and crawl off to the next exit.Tried the throttle and it did nothing. After about another mile it sort of cleared instantly and off it went!I have done about 20 miles since this occured today and since then it has ran perfect (as it has done since January when I bought it) It is very worrying. What could it be?I checked all hoses etc and all appears well.Any ideas guys? Fifty
Dave it happens to me regularly ; full loss of power, no revs and terrible misfire - give em a wiggle (front 1 in my case) and shes OK again. Also happens usually on WOT just when Im overtaking:( Rich
dangerous brain
You can buy new clips to fix that AFAIK. The white insulator part inside cost about £11 I think.
