terribleturner
Sabrina (How_supra) had one of these and i think is still thinking about one as a second car. She was saying they can be picked up for silly money.

Gerry
My daughter had one, they get really crappy write-ups from the motoring press, but the one she had was fine for the couple of years she had it. You get lots of stuff for the money compared to Fords, Vauxhalls etc ...
Mike
One of the lads who works for me had one for a few years and had no bother with it... But it was voted worst car of the year on an episode of Top Gear I saw recently (a re-run on UK Gold or something?)..

Scoboblio
James May's words were something along the following lines; "If you have the Hyundai Accent booklet infront of you, can I implore you not to do it. Buy an old Fiesta, buy a second hand Golf, go on holiday, anything" Someone who parks in the same carpark as me has one of these..... it's true what they say, everything inside it is grey..... it's John Major's car. Then again the rules are different for 2nd cars Cheap and cheerful is where it's at.

npotts
Dude, DONT buy an Accent for christs sake!! They are bloody awful cars...!!! My mate bought a new one three months ago, and its the biggest bag of sh*t Ive ever driven. Anything above 70mph and the car feels unsafe!! Seriously, get something like a second hand Fiesta or Corsa or something...
tbourner
My mate has had one for about 5 years, and about 4 years ago it started making a funny noise, he asked me what it might be. I joked that it sounded like it had no oil in it (ha ha ha), the blank look on his face was worrying. Turned out he hadn't checked the oil since he bought it, and it had been bone dry for god knows how long!! He filled it up, ran it for a bit, topped it up etc. Still running fine today, had an oil leek last year I think that turned out to be the seal around the filter, other than that nothing wrong!! tbourner
They are absolute crap. One of the worst things I have ever driven. I think we're all agreed on that, but if it's the cheapest car in the world and runs for ever without needing a service it's perfect for what's needed isn't it? Getrag
Exactly! Just a shame most of them dont come without power steering? "Oh, you dont feel it when your moving." Yes but you dont really need it when your moving do you, only when your parking. Salesmen eh.

Scoboblio
I think they have wheel alignment problems that prevents them from parking accurately between two white lines, and a back end that keep changing shape and size meaning you have to leave a ten foot gap behind the car when you get out. Or maybe its just the coffin dodger who parks next to me that's at fault.
tbourner
Sorry, I thought the question was are they any good. It was, the question was preceded by "2nd car" though, and as drivers of Supras generally the 2nd cars are the opposite of the first!! Meaning slow, crap and cheap!
