Gazboy
No Not Saying He Has Not Maxed Out His Car To The Limit He Was Saying He Hit A Limiter Stopping Him Goin Any Faster Then maybe there is a speed limiter up there somewhere... If you are limited to 180kph, and your speedo reads in kph, when you change the readings to mph, you may be limited to 180mph on the clocks? A genuine 170 would show up at 180mph on the clocks would it not?
Matt Harwood
If you are limited to 180kph, and your speedo reads in kph, when you change the readings to mph, you may be limited to 180mph on the clocks? A genuine 170 would show up at 180mph on the clocks would it not? Yes, some cheapo type converters just divide the entire speed signal by 5/8ths to get a MPH reading. In effect, that will give you a limiter at around 180mph. The better ones, like the Thor ones, actually cap the speed signal at around 100mph, so, although the car can increase in speed, the ECU never 'sees' any more than 100mph, thus totally removing the limiter. I've seen way more than 170mph via GPS. Speedo needle pointing just to the left of straight down.

Jake
I've seen 172mph (GPS) in my J-spec BPU Supra. Speed was was still climbing slowly but not enough clear road to keep going.
