Whitesupraboy2
today before i went to bolney i spent 2 1/2 hours getting tyres and getting them aligned.i was not happy with the wait! Also i hadnt checked my tyres and was down to the threads!!! so i was very lucky! The problem is, they are aligned straight but tyre place couldnt get rear wheel straight. I believe it too do something with a toe..(i seem to remember someone mentioning this) Basically if u stood at rear of car, u can see the wheel points outwards at the end towards front of car and inwards towards rear of car | | = Normal wheels at rear \ | = what my wheel looks like but no where near as bad lol It requires 2x 19" spanners to loosen then u can rotate wheel i believe The new tyres i have put on have already on the one tyre worn off all the nobbly bits on it!!! so i wana get this sorted before have to fork out another 200 quic on tyres I need to know do i need to take wheel off where can this be found (im sure someone said lower suspension arm) and what exactly i need to do, this is obviously a temporary fix until i can get it till a garage which will be earliest of next sat so i need a temporary fix cheers All P.s also thanx to Gatso for tellin me to still go well worth it

Whitesupraboy2
Had a look at this, but not sure which i should be undoing and how to adjust I think someone has been proneing threads as well coz i cant find the thread im looking for
dangerous brain
Basically that means that one of your back wheels is toe-ing out. The quick fix method that you are talking about may do more harm than good as you won't be able to align the wheel all that well without the aid of proper aligning tools. The mirror jobbies etc that garages use or laser equipment that top pro's use now. Any tyre place will do the alignment for you roughly in moments few to get you through to a proper laser alignment. What I am not understanding is why the tyre place you went to couldn't align the wheel? Has something been bent at some point like I had on my track rod hence my tracking couldn't be sorted? Whitesupraboy2
I have just finished this job, 6hrs later!!! GGRrrrrrr The flipping bolt that goes through and needs to be adjusted with the cam was seized solid!! WD40 then..... try again no luck Gas canister, plus lighter (didnt have a heatgun) still not hot enough Friends gas heater gun thing (cooking it without damaging seals) still no luck!!! by now i have manage to gather attention of 4 blokes who live near by, one comes out wit stuff like WD40 anyway 2hours later of back and forth on the spanner and it moves finally got the toe to within 1.5mm of other side, done simply by string finding centre of car etc... (followed instructions on american supra site) anyway car handles perfect will go back for the free laser alignment they told me i could have again!!! So the truth is they were too damn lazy to keep trying!!! question.....my steering wheel was off by a big way and is now almost straight again!!! weird!!! and supra wheels weigh a ton as i had to keep putting wheel on and off, feel like i done 10 rounds with mike tyson For people who like me have trouble in the future!!! the cam is adjusted from the bolt side and not from the nut side
dangerous brain
Nice 1 dood. Good on ya for havin a go at this job. It can be done the way you did it by measuring from the centre line of the car but its not that accurate but by the sounds of things it was a mile and a half out. Next time you want to get a bit of extra leverage on a spanner use a ring spanner interlocked onto the other end of an open ended spanner to give you another spanner lengths torque to play with. Whitesupraboy2
forgot to say i was using a T bar as well with a pipe sticking out on end of it and still wouldnt budge!!! it was well and truely rock solid! it was a mile out i moved as far as i can tell from amount cam has moved round, about 30mm inwards!! so the toe is -1.5mm. It was pointing outwards obviously im well happy with it! but i now have no room for adjustment,so no more crashes!
